What to Expect

Thank you for taking the time to consider visiting First Baptist Gordonville.

We would love the opportunity to get to know you and journey together in our growth in knowledge and understanding of the Scriptures and in our relationship with Jesus Christ. Visiting a church for the first time can be a very overwhelming experience! We want to help you feel a little more at ease by letting you know what you can expect when you visit us.

Welcoming

Our church will surprise you. Look beyond the size of the building or sanctuary and you will discover a church committed to building authentic community. We want to know your name and care about your needs. We seek to meet people where they are. We welcome your hard questions and struggles. We don’t pretend to have it “all together”, and don’t expect you to.  We understand the need for acceptance, forgiveness, and grace in Jesus Christ. You can come to just check us out, or you can come looking for deeper relationships. We invite you to come just as you are.

Worshiping

Our services include a time to connect with God through song and prayer. There will be a Biblical message from our Pastor that seeks to communicate God’s Truth in a compelling and relevant way. We give tithes and offerings as an act of worship, obedience, and thanksgiving to the Lord.  You can give during the service or anytime via our website fbcgordonville.com/give.  If you are a guest, please do not feel obligates to participate in the offering. Our services close with a brief time to respond to God in both worship and prayer. The service lasts about an hour.

Inviting

If you are looking for community, forgiveness, and a purpose for your life, we invite you to join us. When you come for the first time, we invite you to start your visit by coming to Bible Study at 10a.m. on Sunday mornings. We have classes for all ages. When you arrive you will find people willing to assist you in finding a class and who will probably invite you into their own. Worship begins at 11a.m. in the sanctuary and wither it is in the front, back, pew, or chair; we invite you to sit wherever you feel comfortable. You are also invited to sit with one of us!
